PM Terrance Drew Congratulates U.S. on 250th Independence Anniversary 

Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr. Terrance Drew congratulated the United States of America on the 250th anniversary of American Independence. He shared a Message to extend his best wishes to the government and people of America on this milestone.

In his independence day message, Dr Drew also highlighted the role played by Nevis-born Alexander Hamilton in shaping the history of America. He was proud to acknowledge that one of the United States’ founding fathers hailed from Charlestown in Nevis and went on to carry the legacy of the island over to the United States.

“This anniversary is especially meaningful for us in St. Kitts and Nevis, as our shared history includes one of America’s Founding Fathers, Alexander Hamilton, who was born on Nevis before embarking on the journey that would shape the future of the United States,” said Dr. Drew.

He took the time to reflect on the connections that being St Kitts and Nevis and America closer and took the opportunity to highlight that they will continue to work on their shared commitments.

“As we reflect on this enduring connection, I reaffirm the strong friendship between our nations and our shared commitment to peace, prosperity, security, and sustainable development.

Prime Minister Drew conveyed congratulations to the U.S. President Donald J. Trump and the American people. He described the anniversary as a major milestone which highlights the ideals that have shaped the United States and influenced generations across the globe.

“Today, as the United States marks 250 years of independence, I extend congratulations to President Donald J. Trump and the people of the United States of America on this historic milestone,” the Prime Minister said.

He took the time to recall the long spanning history of the nation and acknowledged how the nation has shaped itself over the course of years. He said the nation has remained committed to freedom, democracy, resilience and opportunity has inspired people across the globe.
