Anonymous Donor Gifts Musical Instruments to Basseterre High School

The Basseterre High School’s Music Department has received a significant donation of musical instruments, two clarinets, one cornet and one keyboard on Monday 29, June 2026 by an anonymous donor. The donation was part of the school Musical Instrument Donation Drive initiative.

According to officials, the instruments were first received by Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew’s sibling Sweet Sister Sensia. The school reportedly organised an official ceremony in the campus where Sweet Sister Sensia handed over the instruments to the authorities.

In attendance was Principal Dr. Damon Bacchus, Music Teacher Gavin Charles and Gariel Ross representing the Basseterre High School Band.

During the ceremony, Principal Bacchus stated that the donations of the instruments give an opportunity to school students to enhance the musical’s skills and talent. He further shared that it also strengthened the school initiative of the music programme. Music teacher Charles along with Gariel Ross appreciated the efforts of Sweet Sister Sensia for promoting the school Musical Instrument Donation Drive initiative on her various social media platforms.

They even expressed gratitude to Sweet Sister Sensia for her continuous efforts of actively advocating children and young people in the community. In the ceremony both the officials also extend heartfelt thanks on the behalf of the school to anonymous donors for their generous donations in contributing in the development of school music departments.

Additionally, Bassterre High School shared the glimpse of the ceremony online along with a short note. The school mentioned that the school is continuously working on providing a well-rounded facility including education, sports, academics, sports and the performing arts to the students.

Notably, the Musical Instrument Donation Drive initiative is an ongoing program in which St. Kitts Basseterre High School requests individuals to donate the instruments to revive and strengthen the school band. The school also shared the instrument names they look for includes Brass Instruments (Trumpets, Trombones, Tubas), Woodwinds (Flute, Clarinets, Charinets, Sexaphones), Percussion Instruments (Drums, Cymbals, Mallets), Keyboard and other band equipment.
