St. Kitts and Nevis to host AfriCaribbean Trade and Investment Forum 2026 in July
St. Kitts and Nevis will host the fifth edition of the AfriCaribbean Trade and Investment Forum (ACTIF) 2026, this year in July. The African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) has signed a hosting agreement with the Government of St. Kitts and Nevis.
The signing of the hosting agreement for ACTIF2026 reflects the economic ties between the Caribbean and Africa. Officials shared that hosting the ACTIF2026 forum in the twin islands will aid economic development, as it bring together key stakeholders from across both the regions.
The signing of ACTIF2026 also highlights a shared commitment to future cooperation as it strengthens partnership, enhances trade relations, and advances both regions’ economic development.
The AfriCaribbean Trade and Investment Forum (ACTIF2026) is a three day event, scheduled to take place from 29 to 31, July 2026 at the St. Kitts Marriott Beach Resort Casino & Spa in Basseterre,
Dr. George Elombi, President and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Afreximbank, expressed that both the regions will once again reunite for developments through strategic programmes.
He said “At the fifth edition of ACTIF, we will once again reunite with our fellow Africans across the Atlantic to reflect on our shared development challenges and to recommit to the implementation of strategic programmes that will advance our collective aspiration for self-determination and self-reliance”.
He further mentioned that ACTIF2026 will focus on identifying priority projects that need immediate attention. He assured that the projects which will be discussed during the forum will be effectively executed as it helps in both regions’ growth.
Prime Minister Dr. Terrance Drew stated that the agreement provides a platform for the administration to pursue development opportunities. He also shared that the twin islands are working to position themselves as a hub for investment and enterprise.
Moreover, the AfriCaribbean Trade and Investment Forum there will be discussion on topics such as investment opportunities, regional trade and strategies on strengthening the Africa-Caribbean cooperation.
In the event there will be participants from government officials, development finance institutions, private sector leaders, entrepreneurs and members from the diaspora.
