Coach Nickahail Rogers and Sailor Elijah Walters are representing St. Kitts and Nevis at the World Sailing Inclusive Development Programme Clinic and Regatta. The tournament is taking place at the National Sailing Academy in English Harbour, Antigua from Sunday 21 to Saturday 27, June 2026.
The participation of both representatives was announced by the St. Kitts and Nevis Sailing Association (SKNSA) in partnership with the St. Kitts Yacht Club and the Nevis Aquatic and Sailing Centre. Rogers and Walters departed the federation on June 21 to join sailors and coaches from across the Caribbean for a week of training, racing and educational activities.
The World Sailing Inclusive Development Programme Clinic and Regatta was launched by the World Sailing organisation in collaboration with the National Sailing Academy of Antigua and Barbuda.
The main aim of the programme is to increase the participation in sailing tournaments and strengthen development pathways for both sailors and coaches. Officials from the twin islands noted that participation in the programme reflects the ongoing efforts of the St. Kitts and Nevis Sailing Association (SKNSA) to expand the opportunities of sailing across St. Kitts and Nevis.
The programme also provides participants with a platform to gain specialised training, coaching and competitive experience. According to officials, the knowledge and experience gained by Rogers and Walters in the World Sailing Inclusive Development Programme Clinic and Regatta will help enhance the efficiency of the SKNSA organization in delivering local programmes and supporting the sailing communities across the Federation.
Additionally, the St. Kitts and Nevis Sailing Association (SKNSA) also expressed pride in witnessing the federation represented at the programme and highlighted its commitment to using this opportunity to develop Sailing as a sport in the St. Kitts and Nevis. The organisation shared their vision of creating sailing inclusive and accessible to all people.
