The Tourism Minister of St Kitts and Nevis has shared that the airlift capacity of the country is on the rise with the help of strategic partnerships which the Ministry of Tourism has worked on. The Minister of Tourism, Marsha Henderson recounted the various achievements of the St Kitts and Nevis Tourism Sector under her leadership during the 2026 budget address.

The Minister highlighted that the tourism sector has seen tremendous turnaround under the leadership of the Terrance Drew led government. She said that a few years previously, St Kitts and Nevis was facing the decline in their airlift capacity,

The number of tourists coming to the island every year were also declining rapidly with the travel partners losing faith in the capacity of the island nation. Something similar had also been said by the Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew during his budget address.

In the aftermath of the global 2019 pandemic, St Kitts and Nevis had been looking at declining tourism industry. The Minister of Tourism and Civil Aviation et al highlighted that they had to create and re-establish strong strategic partnerships with several airlines in the last few years.

Many airlines have now been connecting St Kitts and Nevis with the rest of the world through daily, weekly, biweekly or special flights. The Minister has shared that in the aftermath of all the efforts that they have made, the declining trajectory of the St Kitts Tourism growth has been successfully reversed.

In light of new and reestablished airline partnerships, St Kitts and Nevis is no longer recovering from a setback. The island is, instead poised to redefine Caribbean tourism excellence.

The Minister has shared that ““Airlift remains the lifeblood of island tourism.” As such, the Ministry has worked diligently to rebuild trust with international partners, air and cruise lines, investors and more.

As a result of these efforts, St Kitts and Nevis is a nation not only open for business, but as a thriving, dynamic, and future-ready tourism destination.”
