A delegation from St Kitts and Nevis, consisting of Deputy Prime Minister Geoffrey Hanley and Minister Samal Duggins. The delegation also consists of the speaker of the Parliament, Lanien Blanchette.
The diplomatic visit to Nigeria was the first one after Nigeria granted St Kitts and Nevis Visa free access. The nationals from both the nations have been working on improving diplomatic relationships.
The visit was supported by Aquarian Consult which has been one of the most vocal advocates for the Nigeria and St Kitts and Nevis Partnership. During the visit, St Kitts and Nevis shared that the agreement between St Kitts and Nevis and Nigeria is historic.
Caribbean is the only other region in the world outside of Africa which has such access to Nigeria, which makes St Kitts and Nevis unique in the Caribbean. The public private partnership that has brought St Kitts and Nevis and Nigeria together must be honored.
The connection between the two nations highlights the beginning of a new era of progress and sustainable growth. The members of the delegation will be engaged in a number of public private meeting during the visit of the delegation.
The delegation of St Kitts and Nevis will be able to improve diplomatic and economic ties with the Nigerian continent. The officials have shared that this is an example of how global African communities can come and work together for mutual growth.
The diplomatic relationship between St Kitts and Nevis and Nigeria is the beginning of a Trans Atlantic Bridge of Hope which Dr Terrance Drew, Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis has significantly advocated for.
Nigerian business leader, Aisha Maina, CEO of Aquarian Consult was responsible for bringing the twon nations together in collaboration. During the 2025 edition of the Afri-Caribbean Investment Summit (AACIS ’25) earlier this year, CEO Aisha Maina played a very important role in furthering the connection between St Kitts and Nevis and Nigeria.
