ST. KITTS ABATTOIR ANNOUNCES TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF CATTLE SLAUGHTERING SERVICES FOR FACILITY UPGRADES
The St. Kitts Abattoir has announced that, due to ongoing upgrades, it will not be accepting cattle for slaughter from January 19th to February 9th.
The temporary suspension is necessary to facilitate improvements to the facility’s cattle chute, which will enhance the safety and efficiency of the receiving, holding, and transfer processes for animals being processed.
In a statement, the Department of Agriculture assured traders and farmers that efforts will be made to complete the upgrades as quickly as possible, emphasizing their commitment to minimizing disruption and restoring full service as soon as the project is completed.
The upgrades are aimed at ensuring a safer and more effective operation, benefiting both the animals and those involved in the processing procedures.
