St Kitts and Nevis Restaurant Week will be one of the headline events of the Summer months of the year. The preparations for the week long food themed event have already started with the people expressing their excitement over the social media.

Restaurants from all over the twin island federation will be participating in the week long celebration of food and flavours. The event is organized every year with food enthusiasts travelling to the island to experience the taste of the island.

Every year, during the restaurant week, the chefs and cooks work with a single featured ingredient and theme their dishes around the ingredient. In 2025, this ingredient was tamarind and it inspired a number of unique dishes all over the island nation.

This year, the featured ingredients are being done in a different manner with the ingredients being separated in two sections, a fruit and a vegetable.

As such, for the 2026 edition of the Restaurant chefs will be required to work with two ingredients, one fruit and one vegetable. The organisers have shared that in the fruit section, they have the options of Passion fruit, Soursop and Sorrel. In the vegetables section, the chefs will have to work with either a Butternut Squash, a Green Banana or a Carrot.

Out of these six options, any two will be picked by the organizers of the Restaurant week in the coming weeks. The official ingredients will be announced to the general public as the event draws closer.

So far, some ambassadors of the St Kitts and Nevis Restaurant Week have taken the ingredients debate to the general public to get their take on the ingredients. Looking at the response, it can be assumed that the members of the community are extremely excited to prepare for the food festival.

When asked about what ingredient they would prefer to be part of the 2026 restaurant week, several locals showed a preference for the passionfruit making the fruit a strong contender for being featured ingredient. On the other hand, green banana took the metaphorical cake in the vegetables catagory by large margin.

The official dates for the restaurant week have not been announced so far. However, historically, the event is part of the National calendar in August.
