Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew held a meeting with the new members of the Royal St Christopher and Nevis Police Force. The interactive session was held on Friday, December 5, 2025, at the Police Training Complex in Ponds Pasture. PM Drew shared a motivational message with the new members who were ready to start a new chapter in their career.

The Prime Minister, who also holds the title of Minister of National Security, thanked the new officers for their dedication to serving the nation. He told them that they play a key role in national security and encouraged them to maintain professionalism at all times. PM Drew also reminded them to take their duties seriously.

“Professionalism, making sure you pay attention to your duties and have respect for the organisation on duty and off duty. You should also strive to give back and let your voices be heard; your opinions and your position matter,” noted PM Drew.

The Prime Minister also highlighted Corporal Allison Rouse and Woman Police Constable Donaly Liburd-Chiverton as models of how to professionally and respectfully enforce the law.

As the Christmas and Carnival season approaches, the new officers will start working soon officially. PM Drew said that the public supports strong and respectful policing.

“I want you to take your profession seriously, apply it (the law) with respect, dignity, fairly, justly, in the way that you were taught,” he added.

PM Drew ended the meeting with well wishes for all of their careers. PM Drew also said they can expect to see each other at graduation ceremonies and at the commencement of Police Training Course 47.

The meeting was attended by four island Constables and nine Traffic Wardens. They have all completed their official police training. A total of 26 new recruits – both male and female – were also present and will begin their training in early 2026.
