PM Terrance Drew defends Minister Henderson’s Our Community Our Pride initiative
Dr Terrance Drew, the Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis has extended his support to the Minister of Tourism and Parliamentary representative for Central Basseterre after reports of vandalism emerged from the community where she was on community clean-up exercise. The Minister has been working on the beautification and cleanup exercise of Central Basseterre for the last two weeks.
Two phases of the Minister’s cleanup initiative have been completed with the support of the members of the community. Recently some reports of Vandalism of the Prime Minister leading him to extend his full support to his colleague and comrade.
The Prime Minister spoke about Minister Henderson’s Our Community, Our Pride initiative with a sense of pride and acknowledgement. The Prime Minister has shared that he is proud of the work which has been done for the beautification of the Mcknight Community.
The Prime Minister highlighted that the work of the Minister of Tourism is being appreciated ll over St Kitts and Nevis. He also condemned the people who vandalised the work that the Minister has been doing shows that she is committed to community pride.
The Prime Minister also said that Minister Henderson has been working diligently to make sure that the community which she has been serving as parliamentary representative for the last three years. He strongly opposed the actions of the people who have worked against the efforts of the Parliamentary Representative.
The initiative has been driven largely by community support and as such, deserves the respect Prime Minister added that he is disappointed by the acts of vandalism. He highlighted that he wholeheartedly supports the work done by the Minister of Tourism as it is helping the country in becoming cleaner, more beautiful and popular among tourists.
The Minister of Tourism, Marsha Henderson has also come forward to express her disappointment. She said that the focus should be on keeping the communities clean and beautiful and the communities should not bear the brunt as the the work done by people who live in Central Basseterre.
