Cruise Week Boost: Over 58,000 passengers dock at St Kitts this week

St Kitts and Nevis welcomed a total of 58,108 passengers to the island on the week starting Sunday, January 18. The island saw the arrivals of 20 ships during the week with most of the passengers who were on the ships coming to the shore.

The officials have shared that the people who came to the shore experienced the island for its unique offerings. The tourism stakeholders have shared that they recorded a massive number of cruise passengers on the island during the week.

The officials have shared that out of the 20 cruise ships most berthed at Port Zante and some of the others anchored in the Basseterre Roadstead or Carambola during the period Sunday January 18, 2026 to Saturday January 24, 2026.

The number of arrivals of cruise passengers has been increasing steadily with eye help of cruise partners and stakeholders.

Most of the passengers and crew members from the cruise ships that docked at Port Zante disembarked, providing brisk business for tour and taxi operators. The restaurateurs, craft vendors, pleasure craft, sailing vessels and dive operators also had the opportunity to showcase their product and services to potential clients.

The people have been finding themselves gravitating towards St Kitts and Nevis for its beautiful offerings and natural beauty. Over the years, the small island nation has become a major tourism destination for the people of the island.

The officials have shared that the cruise lines and partners have been actively looking to experience the smallest nation in the Western Hemisphere for its many unique offerings. While this week did not have any inaugural calls, the 2025-26 cruise season which is in progress is expected to welcome more than 20 ships to the island for their inaugural calls. The officials have shared that in light of the growth and numbers they expect next years to be even better.
