ZIZ celebrates 65th Anniversary with Staff Awards

ZIZ Broadcasting Corporation marked its 65th Anniversary on Saturday, 29 March 2026, with an Awards Ceremony and Cocktail Reception at the St. Kitts Marriott Resort Ballroom.

The event was specially dedicated to the long-serving employees and broadcasting pioneers. To honor their contribution to the growth of national media in St. Kitts and Nevis.

The event was attended by the administration officials, media professionals, and former employees. The event highlighted the ZIZ Broadcasting Corporation achievements over time and celebrated their legacy.

The Legacy of Service Award was one of the important highlights of the ceremony. Because the award reflects the legacy of the employees who dedicated their 20 years or more years in ZIZ Broadcasting Corporation. Leonard Lestrade Deputy Chairman of the Board has presented the awards to the honourees.

Lestrade also appreciated the awardees recipients for their professionalism, commitment towards the corporation and their hard work in strengthening the island’s broadcasting sector.

  • Vernon Tyrel

According to ZIZ Broadcasting Corporation, all these employees are the pillars of their organisation. And the work done by them shaped the voice of national broadcasting for decades.

In the Ceremony ZIZ Wall Of Fame was also featured. It honoured the broadcasting legends of the corporation as their work continuously impacted the industry. Claudette “Polly” Manchester was honoured through the title of “ The Voice of ZIZ” as his work helped the corporation to flourish regionally.

Former General Manager Viere Galloway of the corporation was honoured for his commendable leadership role throughout the transformation and growth of the company. Winston Constantine ‘Conse” Edwards, the Cultural advocate and corporation beloved broadcaster Michael ‘Mic Stokes’ Heyliger were also honoured in the ceremony for their contributions in company culture, entertainment, and national identity.
