SKELEC, ANGLEC team up to support Jamaica in power restoration post Melissa

St Kitts and Nevis Electricity Company has shared that they are sending a team of officers to Jamaica to assist in the restoration of power supply. This is the second assistance team that has been sent by the St Kitts Electricity Company.

The aim of the team is to assist in the recovery efforts of Jamaica as the nation grapples with the aftermath of the Hurricane Melissa. The hurricane had hit the island in Late October and the nation has been making efforts to rebuild ever since.

As the nation works on the rehabilitation, SKELEC has extended a helping hand in the spirit of regional solidarity. The officials have shared that the members of the SKELEC will also be accompanied by the members of the ANGLEC.

The Anguilla Electricity company will be also been sending a team of technicians and experts. The joint effort from the two organizations will help in better supporting Jamaica’s recovery effort.

From SKELEC, the team being sent consists of the following members:

  1. Ezekiel Dasent
  2. Akeem Williams
  3. Leroy Webster
  4. Davel Sutton

The team from the Anguilla Electricity Company consists of the following members:

  1. Kemmael Jacobs
  2. Omari Hamilton
  3. Shem Liddie

The announcement of the team was done by the St Kitts Electricity Company in a statement. The organization has claimed that the joint team will start their on ground work for the restoration of power in Jamaica, they do it in a spirit of regional unity.

The company has claimed that this initiative is proof of the fact that Caribbean nations thrive when they uplift one another. The organization has extended their support and appreciation to the team which has extended their services to the people of Jamaica.

SKELEC is sending a team to Jamaica for the second time as they seek to support Jamaica in a time of tragedy and need. The officials have shared that they are delighted to see the team dedication, courage, and willingness to serve beyond the shores of St Kitts
