Ambassador Marie-Noelle Duris meets PM Drew for courtesy call

The Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis met with the Ambassador of France for a courtesy call on Thursday, January 22, 2026. During the meeting, Ambassador Marie-Noelle Duris presented her credentials to Dr Terrance Drew.

During the meeting, the two leaders discussed the way forward for the cooperation between the two nations to grow. The meeting was hosted at the Prime Minister’s office in Government Headquarters with other officers in attendance.

The discussions began with continued support for the Alliance Française with the people and government of France. The officials have shared that the people of the island have enjoyed years of bilateral ties with the government of France.

The officials have shared that they discussed the collaboration between the two nations in education and cultural development. The officials have shared that St Kitts and Nevis has been working diligently to develop the relationships between the two nations. The Ambassador Marie-Noelle Duris will also be visiting the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr Denzil Douglas and Governor General Marcella Liburd.

She will be presenting her credentials to the Minister and Governor General before the official beginning of her tenure in St Kitts and Nevis.

France has enjoyed a strong and long-standing relationship with St Kitts and Nevis for over four decades. The nation established a relationship with St Kitts and Nevis, then a newly independent nation, on September 20, 1983.

The nation has been working diligently to make sure that they have better diplomatic presence in the country. The officials have shared that the collaborations and coordination between the two nations will help in making sure that the people can get access to internationally supported devlopment project.
