Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew has announced a welcome development in the Air Arrivals in the country. The officials have shared that during 2025, the nation has welcomed  192,793 passengers in terms of air arrivals.

The officials have also shared that this is the first year that the air arrivals have gone upwards of the Pre pandemic Levels. Prior to the global pandemic, in 2019, the air arrivals in St Kitts and Nevis recorded 177,099.

This is the first year, the number of air arrivals in the country have gone past this number, The officials have shared that they are proud to see the number of air arrivals climbing past what was the last known high point before the global pandemic hit.

The Covid-19 had forced worldwide stagnation of the tourism industry. After the nation opened its borders to tourists, the efforts have been dedicated to make sure that the tourism sector of the country can recover.

The recorded numbers of air arrivals for the year 2025 surpassed the 2019 statistics by a massive 15,694 passengers. The officials have shared that the numbers show a positive trend in tourism recovery

The Prime Minister said that after the stagnation that the tourism sector of the country had to face during the Covid-19 period, he was delighted to see the tourism sector thriving once more. The officials have shared that  the number have been the result of the increased airlift capacity resulting from better trade relations fostered by the Ministry of Tourism in the government of St Kitts and Nevis.

Since 2022, when the nation was reopened for visitors and the Covid 19  restrictions removed properly, the nation has built significant connections with airlines including JetBlue, InterCaribbean, American Airlines, United Airlines, Caribbean Airlines, and more. Most of these airlines have started regular service to the island to increase the connectivity of St Kitts and Nevis with the rest of the world. This achievement ties in directly with the increase in the number of air arrivals to the nation.

This momentum is expected to remain constant and more growth can be expected in the near future
