Nation mourns loss of Delores Hobson

St Kitts and Nevis is mourning the loss of a community steward and beloved figure of the St Kitts and Nevis, Delores Hobson. She was a resident of the St Peter’s Community and has been instrumental to the growth of the community.

The elder who passed away on January 2, 2026 was one of the most adored members of the St Peter’s Community, The members of the community have extended their condolences to the members of her family. 

Several people from all over the country have come forward to mourn the loss of this legendary woman who was one of the founders of the  Coca-Cola Shamrock Netball Club. In addition to the rest of the nation, who knew Hobson as a mother, baker, grandmother choir alto leader, advisor and more, the Coca-Cola Shamrock Netball Club also paid their tributes. The Nation was one of the winners of the We Village Dat honor in the St Peter’s Community.

She was given the honor by the Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis alongside Minister Samal Duggins. The people from all over the island nation have been taking to their social media to extended their sincere grief on the passing of Hobson. 

She was a teacher, a netball player, a baker, a mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was also a supporter and member of the St Kitts and Nevis Labour Party. 

The party has also taken the stage to extend their most sincere respect to the individual. The SKNLP said that they continue to cherish the legacy of Delores Hobson whose life was well lived in service of the people.. 

The officials have shared that Hobson’s Life was life was defined by service, quiet leadership, and an unwavering commitment to community.

She worked with the St Kitts and Nevis Labour Party with honor and her legacy is that of constantly giving to the people.
