Port Zante welcomed nearly 5440 passenger to their shores aboard three cruise ships welcoming another positive multi cruise day for the tourism stakeholders of the country. The ships which were docked at the shores of St Kitts on Thursday include the Celebrity Beyond, Marella Discovert and Seabourn Ovation.

Out of the trio, the Celebrity Beyond, which is part of the Celebrity cruise line was carrying the largest chunk of tourists aboard. With more than 3,100 passengers on board the cruise ship,  the celebrity cruise ships have been bringing large influx of passengers to the shores of St Kitts and Nevis.

Aboard the Marella Discovery, 1750 passengers visited the island of St Kitts and took advantage of all the offerings that the island had, including historic cultural, traditional and culinary offerings.

The officials have shared that in the last cruise for the day, just upwards of 550 passengers visited the island. The three cruise ships which arrived on wednesday at Port Zante collectively took the number of arrivals over 5400 with many of the passengers coming off board to explore the island.

In addition to the three cruise ships, two multi million dollar yachts were also anchored off shore from St Kitts. The arrival of yachts highlights the growing presence of the island nation in the international cruise and yacht sectors.

Both modes of travel have been making visits to the small island highlighting that more and more people want to experience small islands  like St Kitts and Nevis instead of the more popular tourist heavy islands and travel spots in the rest of the world.

The tourism arrivals have been climbing steadily over the last few years, a majority of the last half decade has been spent in Covid-19 Recovery, highlighting the significance of the growth that St Kitts and Nevis has been seeing in the tourism sector.
