The St Peter’s Main Road has reached the final stages of the rehabilitation which started in August 2023. With the rehabilitation of the long awaited road project nearing completion, the opening date for the road will also be announced soon.

The St Peter’s Main Road rehabilitation project has been ongoing for the last two years covers a distance of 6.2 kilometres. The road goes from the RLB International Airport roundabout through to St. Peter’s covering the communities which were previously sidelined.

The Ministry of Public Utilities has shared that they have been working diligently on the completion of the road project. In the last three months, the authorities have been sharing regular updates on the progress which has been made in the rehabilitation project.

The Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis has recently taken to his social media to share a flashback post detailing how the road had been overlooked before the labour administration took office. Dr Drew took to his social media and shared that he had raised concerns on the situation of the road conditions back in February of 2022.

At the time, he had been told that since the St Peter’s Road is not part of the Island Main Road. As such the road rehabilitation was not a priority for the administration of the country. In this regard, Dr Drew was delighted to announce that his administration took quick action on starting the rehabilitation of the road which had been neglected by the previous administration.

The Ministry of Public utilities has been sharing regular updates from the rehabilitation project. After a complete rehabilitation of the St Peter’s Main Road, the communities will be better connected to the rest of the island nation.

The road rehabilitation is also being done for the other communities to improve connectivity and ease of movement. The officials have shared that they are working on improving road infrastructure across the island.
