His Majesty’s Prison Inmates place 4th in International Chess Tournnament

The Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis has congratulated the inmates of his majesty’s prison who have secured the fourth spot in the international chess Tournament. The championship was hosted on October 14.
Prior to this tournament, the participating inmates qualified for the tournament by winning a local tournament which was hosted in September. In acknowledgement of the achievement of the local inmates, Dr Drew shared a post on his social media.
The inmates who moved onto the international tournament competed on September 4, 2025 in an in house tournament. This tournament was designed to pick the best players which would then compete with international players.
He applauded the local inmates for their victory and applauded them for their dedication and hardwork. Their constant work has led them to the fourth place in the competition.
He also extended his best wishes to the prison officers who made this achievement possible. The officers from His Majesty’s Prison have shared that the international tournament has participants from across the region and much oof the rest of the world.
Twenty individuals from St Kitts and Nevis have been credited for making the nation proud for their work. The officials have shared that the victory is also a matter of tremendous pride for the local prison.
The Prison has been running a successful rehabilitation programme which came into positive spotlight with this victory of the local inmates. The officials have shared that the members of His Majesty’s Prison have been working hard to bring this honour home and said that the inmates performance at the event was remarkable.
The people of St Kitts and Nevis have also appreciated the youngsters for their work and their achievement. The sentiment in the comments which were seen under PM Terrance Drew’s post highlighted how the people were happy to see the nation’s youth record this achievement.
However, at the same time, they hoped that the youngsters do not engage in criminal activities and land in prison.
