Ambassador Jacinth Lorna Henry-Martin, Irma Cristina Johnson and Sylvester Anthony have been honored with the Order of the British Empire. The honors are being given to these distinguished nationals of St Kitts and Nevis for their contributions to the various sectors of the country, including diplomacy, community outreach, culture and public service.

The government of St Kitts and Nevis has shared a press release confirming that the three nationals are part of the King’s Birthday Honors List 2025. The first awardee on the Order of the British Empire list confirmed by the government is  Ambassador Jacinthh Lorna Henry-Martin.

Currently, Ambassador Henry Martin is serving as the representative of St Kitts and Nevis to the United States of America. She is also the Permanent Representative of the Organization of American States (OAS).

She has served the people of the nation for decades and worked for the empowerment of the youngsters and women. She has also served as the Director of Culture and Parliamentary Secretary for Culture. Ambassador Jacinth has also served as the Minister of Information, Culture, Youth & Sports.

Her contribution to the national development, especially in the development of the creative industries of St Kitts and Nevis has been most tremendous. The second name on the list of honorees was that of the “Mother of Culturama”, Irma Johnson.

Ms Johnson has been a notable figure in the field of culture, public service and community outreach. The nonagenarian  has been playing a very important role in the development of National Indentity of Nevis.

She was a co founder of the Nevis Culturama Festival as a member of the Nevis Dramatic and Cultural Society (NEDACS). She has worked hard over the decades to revive the customs of Nevis and celebrate its heritage through music and dance.

The final name on the OBE list was that of Attorney Sylvester Anthony, who has served the nation significantly in the field of Law. He has served as a Principal of The Law Offices of the Sylvester Anthony for twenty five years.

He also served in the position of the Chairman of the Board of Governors in St Kitts and Nevis CBI. He is a highly capable legal practitioner who has been dedicated to public service  through his work in the legal field.
